Winners were chosen by a panel of three professional photographers.

Terence Carter is a travel and editorial photographer and travel writer. He literally lives out of a suitcase accompanied by a couple of bags of photography gear and a lighting kit. He is Australian by birth, he has a Masters Degree in media studies and his home is Dubai, where he visits occasionally to empty his post box. Rick Sammon, who has photographed in almost 100 countries around the world, gives more than two-dozen photography workshops and presentations around the world each year. He has published 34 books, including his latest, Rick Sammon's Secrets to Digital Photography, Face to Face and Exploring the Light.

Steve Davey is a writer and photographer, whose work has taken him all over the world. He has recently published Footprint Travel Photography, the definitive guide to taking pictures on your travels. He has also launched a unique series of travel photography tours, in conjunction with Intrepid Travel. The next of these heads to Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas in July.
